Review the request before you act
Check a marketplace message before you ship or refund
An email or screenshot that says you were paid is not the same as a transaction visible in your real account. Keep the deal on-platform and let support handle payment problems.
A warning sign is a reason to pause, not proof by itself. TrustShield cannot guarantee that a message is safe or fraudulent.
Warning signs to slow down for
- The buyer claims to have paid too much and asks for money back.
- A payment or account problem can supposedly be fixed only by sending money.
- The conversation or payment is moved outside the marketplace.
Safer checks you can make
- Confirm the transaction inside the marketplace or payment service.
- Use platform support for reversals instead of making a new transfer.
- Do not ship until the real order and payment status are clear.
